    Question 'pretty dope'

    Hello,

does 'pretty dope' mean 'pretty stupid'? If so, I can't quite understand why.

"All we can tell is that having your initials worked into the plane's identification (as you can see by the "N236MJ" on the plane's left jet engine) is pretty dope.
    "
This is from a news story about Michael Jordan's private plane.

    Thank you.

Apparently it means 'cool' or 'awesome' - Is the expression "that is pretty dope" good or bad? ? - Yahoo! Answers. I don't know why, either.

Olympian, given the subject of the story, I like your definition more than the real one!

@emsr2d2, really? I thought it made sense with definition provided by fivejedjon. I can understand if someone thinks it is cool to have your own number and logo.

I am aware that some people might think it cool but personally I think it's stupid and self-obsessed! But I can't stand all the ridiculous nonsense that comes with celebrity and having far too much money anyway. Anyway, that's why I would have preferred that your definition turn out to be correct. Sadly not.
