Which preposition is correct?

I wear a suit on important events.
or
I wear a suit in important events.

I hope you don't teach your students to use multiple exclamation marks when a full stop will do.

The title of your post was "Preposition". That is quite vague. Rover meant that it would have been more appropriate to actually make "I wear a suit in/on important events" the thread title as well as the actual post.

When scrolling down a screen of threads, it's much more helpful for us to get a good idea of what the question is so that we can decide whether to open it and read it. Just seeing "Preposition" doesn't give us much to go on.

I could see "on" being used in this case. Not "in." "To" is probably best.
