my daughter came home today after having a grade 1 lesson in english.
she had a mistake and I don't know if it is wrong or right.
can you please help.
The sentence was.... Elena and you are sisters. _______ are sisters.

my daughter put WE in the blank and was marked wrong. the correct answer being YOU.
Why is this so?????

The two sentences are uttered by the same speaker. 'You' (plural) can denote 'Elena and you (singular)'

B: Yes, we are sisters.

I think that "we" usually needs to include the idea of "I."

Elena and I [the speaker]are sisters. [Therefore] We are sisters.

My class went to the zoo. We enjoyed ourselves. ["My class" has the idea of

"I am in the class."] (P.S. They enjoyed themselves. = I was absent that day. I did

not go to the zoo with my classmates.)

The movie amused Mona and me. We plan to see it again today. [ That is: Mona and

I were amused by the movie.]
