    Default just as often?

    Hello, teachers.

Would you take a look at the following?

One of the most noticeable characteristics of the traditional Japanese way is that the Japanese people are conditoned to think in what might be described as circular or holistic terms rather than in the narrow straight lines that are favored in the West. When viewed from a Western standpoint Japanese thinking and behavior often appear irrational.

In reality, however, the Japanese way of thinking and acting just as often turns out to be more rational, more logical, than the Western way because the Japanese approach is often more comprehensive, since it takes illogical as well as contradictory factors into consideration.

My question is what "just as often" means in this case.
Does it mean "just as often as the Japanese way of thinking and acting turns out to be irrational"?
If not, would you give me some clues to understand this part?

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

    yam.
