Another curious student has asked me the difference between look forward to and wish. I have tried to explain the difference in Spanish completing my explanation with some examples in sentences using them. but I wanted to check if my explanation was right with native English speakers.

When we look forward to something, we are fairly certain that it's going to happen, it's an expected event. When we wish for something we want it to happen but we are far from certain that it will.
Example:
"I'm looking forward to going to India in December" I've booked the tickets.
"I wish I could go to India in December" I can't, I can't afford the tickets.
