1. Well, a cloud forest appears to be correct: Cloud forest - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

2. "Much" and "most" would both be acceptable.

3. I think there is a word missing in the final part of the sentence. I imagine it was meant to say something like "by releasing CO2 as we power our modern lives". Whether the word was omitted in the original or simply in this thread, I don't know.
