    Default You don’t want to mess up with me.

    Hi,

    What does this sentence mean?

    You don’t want to mess up with me.

    Does it mean "You don't want to annoy me, do you"?

    Thanks a lot

    "You don't want to mess with me" is a phrase used as a warning to not antagonize an individual.

    To "mess up" something (or to mess something up) is to make mistakes. Like "I put Harry in charge of the project but he really messed up the orders to the vendors."

    So the sentence means "You don't want to irritate me, right"?

    The one who says this wants to tell him or her that she is feeling very unhappy.

    I think that Soothing Dave was suggesting that your sentence was not natural. I agree.

    * Not a teacher

    In an informal environment, I think you will mostly hear:

    You don't want to f**k with me.

    In my opinion, it could also be interpreted as:

    You don't want to be my enemy.
