Question by the 24th of every month

    Hi,

Invoices must be submitted by the 24th of every month.

What does "by the 24th of every month" means? Does it means the first day of every month or the last day of every month ?

I found this sentence in CALD Dictionary.

    Thanks.

Oh, I think I have understood now, it means that invoices must be submitted by the 24th day of every month, so, it was invalid when submitted between the 25th and the 31st.

I thought it was an HOUR instead of a DAY. Please correct me if I am wrong.

    Thanks.
