I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

Thanks a lot, Barb. I've learned the meaning of the phrase. Then, another question:

In most cases I found the phrase is used without the article 'a'. Does it matter whether we use 'a' or not? Thank you again.
P.S. I'm part/a part of the project. Is it good English with and without 'a'?
