Default There are few tigers left/remaining.

There are few tigers left/remaining. Do both words work as well?

Would 'Few tigers remain/are left' be better as it is simpler?

    Thank you in advance.

But I think either 'not many' or 'very few' would sound more natural. (There is also a poetic inversion that you may come across: 'Few are the tigers that are left'. This sort of inversion is almost never used colloquially, except in idioms like 'Many's the time I've...')
