Can one day:

instead of:
2-I spent a lot of money to have my television repaired.

Can one day:
3-I spent a lot of money to build that house.
instead of:
4-I spent a lot of money to have that house built.

I think "1" does not work by "3" does.
I think one can't say:
5-I repaired my television.
if one had someone else do it.
but one could say:
6-I built that house.
if one paid for it to be built.

1 It's OK, but (on) repairing would work better for me.
3 Yes
5 It's OK- I would just assume that they meant that they got someone to do it unless they were the sort who could do it themselves.
