    Question about the predicate verb of "some of the money"

    there is a question(filling the black with "be"):
    - Some of the coins in my box are missing.
    - Why,some of the money in my desk _ missing, too.

    Some (part) of the money is missing.

    We can count money, of course, but the noun 'money' is a non-count (uncountable) noun in normal usage.

    The coins/notes are on the table. Some of them are missing.
    The money is on the table. Some of it is missing.
    Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.
