Hi.
In a PDF on Data Base Management Systems from wisc.edu, I read:
"The schema for the result of a given query is also fixed! Determined by definition of query language constructs."
Why it does not say ~the definition of~?
That second group of words is not a complete sentence, so it is not possible to say much about it.
Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.
There is no verb.

Yes, I know what the whole sentence is. The problem is how much of it you have removed. "The rest" of something is only defined if we know what is removed.
The sentence is
The schema for the result of a given query is also fixed! Determined by definition of query language constructs.
Now you want to replace something with "the definition of". The problem is that you haven't told us what you want to replace.
The easiest way to solve this problem would perhaps be your posting the whole new sentence without tildas. (I do think I know what sentence you have in mind but why risk a misunderstanding?)
Ok,
I meant
Can we replace"The schema for the result of a given query is also fixed! Determined by definition of query language constructs."
with:
"The schema for the result of a given query is also fixed! Determined by the definition of query language constructs."
