    In X- factor audition.

Simon said 'That was single handely the best audition...

What does single handely mean in this sentence?

The expression is 'single-handedly' and I've no idea what he meant.

I'm with Rover. It makes no sense there.

When you do something single-handedly, you do it by yourself, without assistance. Robin Hood single-handedly defeated 12 men.

Perhaps he meant to say "singularly" -- more or less, uniquely.

People don't always speak well when they are highly excited.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

In one of my brief forays into watching television, I actually heard those words uttered. I cringed.
Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.

Never mind that it's an American show. I believe he's one of YOURS, isn't he?
