the meaning of "what they are told to do"

Dear all,

Is is okay to say #1 is the same in meaninng as #2 and #3?

1. Computers do what they are told to do, whether we mean it nor not.

2. Computers do whatever they are told to do, whether we mean it or not.

3. Computers do anything they are told to do, whether we mean it or not.

They all work. I personally prefer #2.
