Hi Teachers,
My question is about the directions in blue. Are they fine based on the exercise given?
Thanks in advance
Circle the letter of the correct option to the underlined word(s).
1.- They never live anywhere else. However, some other Americans are ready for a change.
a. It emphasizes the fact that the second point is a synonym of the first.
b. It emphasizes the fact that the second point contrasts with the first.
c. It emphasizes the fact that the second point has similar qualities with the first.
2.- City dwellers are people who
a. live in a city
b. work in a city
c. are always at home
3.- Who isn’t happy?
a. Many people who live in small towns.
b. Many people who live in rural areas.
c. both a and b
This is a very strange exercise.
#1 is asking about the function of a word.
#2 is asking about the definition of a word.
#3 appears to be a comprehension question about a reading passage.
Are you sure you want to cover such a wide range in one exercise?
Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.
Hi 5jj,
Thank you so much for your answer.
That's what I thought; the exercise was covering a wide range in one. Then, could you tell me which directions are the most appropriate ones for each one please?
