    Talking singular or plural

Which is correct...The company 'has' or 'have'? I read some where that even though a company is singular, but the verb thereafter must be treated as plural. I hope my question makes sense.

    Both are acceptable in BrE.

Welcome to the forum Nastybadboy. The question made perfect sense, and bhaisahab could answer with no problem. Your thread title was also relevant.

I believe that the singular verb form is preferred in AmE. Perhaps an American will confirm this.

Definitely in the US we would prefer the singular form of the verb.

I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
