    Default a flash in the pan

    Can we use a flash in the pan in this sentence?
    Everyone likes to have a car. But when they get it, they are not excited about it. So having a car is a flash in the pan.
    Is this meaning correct?
    a flash in the pan: it's interestingfor a short period of time
