What does this sentence mean?
There was a murder in London yesterday.
Thanks a lot
I don't know what does "murder" mean here? A person?
defiintion of murder.
murder - definition of murder by Macmillan Dictionary
I hope it helps.
Silverobama, masterding has a point. "Murder" is a word. You can find the meaning of any word in a dictionary. Sometimes it may be difficult to understand what the dictionary says (and the dictionary doesn't always tell you the whole truth too) but in this case it is rather clear that a murder is not a person.
Just to make it clear:
a murder is an act;
a murderer is a person.
