Default I saw her killed / I saw her being killed

Verbs such as see, watch, hear, notice have object and complement.

Complements for these verbs are usually 0 infinitive, present participle, and past participle.

My question is how do you put when you want to say 'she' was killed ans you saw it?

    1. I saw her killed
    2. I saw her being killed.

    ??

PS: I think 1 is the correct sentence though.

Default Re: I saw her killed / I saw her being killed

They are both possible, but, as the act of killing is generally a short, even instantaneous one, #1 is far more likely in most contexts.

    1. I saw John kill her / I saw her killed
    2. I saw drugs killing her / I saw her being killed ( by drugs)
Barb_D, bhaisahab and englishhobby like this.
Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.
