    Default It hit/struck me that

It hit/struck me that this was good for me.

With the meaning of 'It occurred to me that...', are both hit and struck as good to use?

    Thank you in advance.

Yes, it emphasizes that it occurred to you suddenly.
    You'll hear both.

I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
