I missed my favorite program but my husband ...................... for me.
Please what goes into the gap? I want to say he explained it to me.
"Recorded it" is more likely.
Thanks.
But when we say 'my husband recorded it for me' I think it means he used a device (recorder) so I that can watch it later.
But I want to say 'it was an oral reproduction'. Something like 'when I arrived home, my husband started talking about that TV series.'
I missed my favorite program but my husband ...................... for me.
".. but my husband described it for me" would be a common option.
or:
".. but my husband brought me up to speed".
".. but my husband brought me up to date".

My husband summarised it for me.
He rehashed it for me.
He described what happened [in it] for me.

I missed my favorite program but my husband narrated it for me.
"...filled me in" is another option.
"Gave me a synopsis" is a bit more technical term.
