You can say this, but we normally would not bother with "so he is my fellow countryman". There is no need for it. You could also just say, "Ali is a fellow Iranian".

We have no natural word in English for this. In this sentence, there is no need to say anything after 'Shahrood'.

This could be a US thing.I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
