'Turn around' ?

Hi,

Can you say:

"He used to cause a lot of trouble, but not that he has gotten older he turned around"


with 'turn around' i mean got a better person, became more positive

In BE I'd say

'He used to cause a lot of trouble, but since he got older he has turned his life around'.

Because it's not an idiom.

Turn your life around means to change the direction your life is going. There's nothing that makes it a complete idiom that would be listed in a dictionary of idioms.

It's not an idiom in its own right but it's a recognised phrase using the phrasal verb "turn around".
