Hi Teachers,
How are people who talk in their dreams called? Are they sleep talkers? I know the action is 'sleep talking', but what about the people?
Thanks in advance
I have heard only 'talking in their sleep', not 'sleep-talking'.
Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.
They are called somniloquists.
(Dictionary.com)somniloquy (sɒmˈnɪləkwɪ)
— n , pl -quies
(rare) the act of talking in one's sleep
[C19: from Latin somnus sleep + loqui to speak; compare soliloquy ]

Your question should have been
'What are people who talk in their dreams called?'

@ L54. Note the word 'rare' in the definition Rover provided. I doubt if many people have ever heard or seen the word. The meaning is clear to those of us who have some Latin, but there aren't that many of us around these days.

The common way is to say X talks in his/her sleep.
