    Default set up a tent

Which one is more common? pitch up or set up a tent?
What is the opposite of pitch up or set up a tent?

We "put up" or "pitch" a tent. The opposite of "put up/pitch a tent" is "take down a tent".

    Also

break camp - take down a tent or the tents of an encampment ready to leave.

I"m okay with "set up" the tent as well as "pitch" or "put up."

Is "set up the tent" uniquely American?

I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
