    Default trusting vs trustful

    Are trustful and trusting interchangeable?

Could anybody tell me the difference between them? For instance:

Judy had an open and trusting nature.
Trustful birds have built their nests.

A very small dictionary? A trustful person has a trusting nature.

The words may, in some not very interesting sense, 'have the same meaning', but context decides whether they are interchangeable.

I was going to say that the context is crucial - I think it's the motto of this forum.
