    Default mog

What exactly does "mog" refer to in the following, a cat?

I am reminded of a very funny line in the movie Space Balls, "I'm a mog: half man, half dog. I'm my own best friend!"

    Thank you.

    Yes, in that line.

However, in BrE, a moggy/mog is a cat: Definition of moggy | Collins English Dictionary

Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.

The joke depends on the audience's knowledge of the saying 'A dog is a man's best friend.'
