    Default target someone

    Hi,

Can I say or write, "I targeted Ally to get A for Math paper." I know target means aim, but is there another way to write it about someone who is expected to obtain certain achievements after having been 'groomed'?

    Thanks

Do you mean that you predicted that Ally would get an A in her math paper? Or do you mean that you told Ally that you wanted her to aim to get an A?

I predicted that Ally would get an A in her math paper after countless drilling exercises she did in my class.

    Thank you

In that case, that's what you should say or write.
