Please set the following in red clear for me.
As I've gotten to know Meng better, I have come to realize that he is not your average engineer; he's a closet Boddihisattva. And with this book, I'd drop the "closet" part.
Does this mean "he is no longer doing good in secret. By writing this book, he is doing good in public"? He has come out of the closet to the outside world?
Thank you.
Or if he didn't come out of that closet himself, the book will "out" (reveal a former secret) him.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
Many thanks for the answer.
