and which sentence is more accurate? "He has been dead for many years" or "He has been died for many years"
Thanks
You can say
Many people have died.
Many people are dead.
He has been dead for many years.
He died many years ago.
But it is ungrammatical to say
Many people are died.
He has been died for many years.
The word "accurate" is not a good choice here. Use "correct" or "grammatical."
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
