Relocation to China

John worked in Hong Kong. Two months ago, he was assigned by the employer to station in China.

1. Is it natural to say verbally " He was relocated to China by his employer" or "He was required by his employer to station in China".
2. How do we write the title of reason of resignation? Is it natural to write "Relocation to China". ?

1. The first way is good. We don't generally talk about being "stationed" unless we are in the army.
2. If he was assigned to China he is not resigning.

We talk about being "posted" somewhere, but I don't think there's anything wrong with "relocated".

John was working in Hong Kong but two months ago his employer told him that he was being posted to China. He was unwilling to relocate to China so he resigned.

I would say that his reason for resignation was his "forced relocation to China", a relocation that he was unwilling to undertake.
