subjective complements
I understand that a subjective complement may be an adjective or a noun.
My question is can a subjective complement be a pronoun or an adverb?
For example: is the adverb 'here' in the following sentence considered a subjective complement?
Joe is here.
How about a pronoun? Can that be a subjective complement? If yes, please provide an example.
Thanks

Re: subjective complements
***** NOT A TEACHER *****
Hello, Jess:
I am old. (adjective)
I am a retiree. (noun)
I am he/him. (pronoun)
*****
I am here:
I = subject.
am = this is not the linking verb "be." It is a full verb meaning something like "to exist."
here. = adverb. Tells where I am (exist).
HAVE A NICE DAY!

Aha! Using the word "exist" to check whether be is used as a linking verb or (full?) verb is a very helpful trick.
THANK YOU!
