    Hi all,

    Please, explain me the meaning of the phrasal verb "set to limp".

    The original sentence is here:

    "With the global economy set to limp its way through 2012, gold prices continue to soar toward a record high."

    There is no phrasal verb here.

    If a person or thing is set to do something then that thing is arranged or foreseen. Your sentence means approximately the same as: As the current situation strongly suggests that the global economy will limp its way through 2012, gold prices will ...
