Please check whether these sentences are correct.
1Recently, the celebrities visited Japan for official event.
2Recently the celebrities visited Japan for official event.
3The celebrities visited Japan for official event recently.
4The celebrities recently visited Japan for official event.
5Lately, the celebrities visited Japan for official event.

They are all incorrect but not because of your use of "recently". You need to use the indefinite article before "official event". #5 doesn't sound natural to me though. "Lately" is not appropriate. It's usually used to describe something which has happened over a period of time (Lately, it has been very cold at night).
When you make a list like this, please make sure you put something in to separate the numbers and the sentence. Look at my example above in red.
