the blast of sound OR the blast of the sound -- confused with articles!
I read some articles with the phrase "the blast of sound." I don't know but I think there should be an article before sound. Am I right or wrong? What could be the explanation to this?
Thanks.

You don't need an article before 'sound'.
"A blast of sound; a sprinkling of water; a gush of wind; the smell of rain ..."
An attribute or quantity of some uncountable noun.
