'What was the man’s reason not to let the doctor see the elephant man then?'
Hi teachers,
Text:
'I'd like to see the elephant man, please,' I said. (a doctor)
The man looked at me angrily. 'Well, you can't,' he said. 'The shop's closing now. You can come back tomorrow.
Could you check this question and answer according to the previous text.
What was the man's reason not to let the doctor see the elephant man then?
Because the shop was closing (then).
Thanks in advance.

I'd use "at that time" rather than "then".
