One of my friends who works in cosmetic industry wants to choose a brand name. He asked me to help him because he thinks my English is better than his English. They want to mix these two words "pharma" and "cis" and make "pharmacis" or "pharma cis". They want to know if this combination is possible and it doesn't have a negative or bad meaning. And what can the new word (pharmacis / pharma cis) mean?

Your chosen name may well remind people of pharmacist. This may or may not be a good thing.

It really will depend on what the product is. As 5jj said, the word is so close to "pharmacist" that unless the product is medically-related in some way, it will be rather confusing. Do you know why your friend wants to use "pharma" at the beginning of the brand name, given its connotations?

A brand name should ideally be unique, catchy and not ambiguous.
'Pharma cis' is rather ambiguous as it sounds almost like pharmacist.
