to make oneself/sb ready for use (idiom)
I need to find an idiom for a mening: to make oneself/sb ready for use. I can't come up with anything.

A person ready to be used? I'm not quite sure what you mean. Can you give an example?
Re: to make oneself/sb ready for use (idiom)
I have a definition: make oneself/sb ready for use. And I have to find an idiom that fits to it.

The definition doesn't make sense. If people don't make themselves ready for use, then we wouldn't have an idiom for it.

But ready for a particular use works: 'primed for action', 'ready for anything', 'up for it'...
(Sprinters refer to starting 'on the B of the bang')

I wouldn't class that as "somebody being ready for a particular use". Surely that's just "somebody being ready for something/to do something".

Yes, I was over-interpreting 'use'. A crossword-setter might think it needed a 'prop';-) ('somebody being ready for a particular purpose').
