Using nouns and pronouns with phrasal verbs
Could someone tell me how to determine if noun/pronoun should stand before adverb/preposition or after it when this noun/pronoun is used with phrasal verb?
Here are some examples - "give smth up" or "give up smth"; "check smth out" or "check out smth"; "fill smth in" or "fill in smth" etc.

Some phrasal verbs are separable, some are not.

(Re)search "separable and inseparable phrasal verbs".

Thanks, but I just wanted to know if there is any rule to distinguish separable phrasal verbs from inseparable ones.

There isn't. You just have to learn how each one is used.
Context is important. Please provide enough for us to be able to deal effectively with your question.
Your thread title should include all or part of the word/phrase being discussed.
If you just want to know the meaning of a word, try OneLook Dictionary Search first.

Most lists and dictionaries will tell you, so it is a case of using that to know. It's not an area governed by rules.
