What are the differences in usage of phrases "by myself" and "on my own"? (if any)
As I understand I can do smth "by myself" and "on my own" and this mean the same.

I have found post regarding this subject on the forum and there is some basic explenation but I would like to get known some more details. The answer was:
Regarding first case, what does it mean: "no-one else will"?I will do it myself = 'I will do it, no-one else will.'
I will do it by myself = 'I will do it, I don't need any help.'
I will do it on my own = 'I will do it, I don't need any help.'
Does it mean that I am the only person skilled enough to do it? Some kind of boasting?

I have asked my children to take care of a household chore. They continue to watch TV. "Never mind!" I say angrily. "I will do it myself!"
I want to create a playlist on iTunes. My daughter can do it in 10 seconds. I have to struggle each time. She says she'll help me. "No thanks," I say. I will do it by myself. I need to learn how to do it without you."
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
