In French we say: J'ai bien reçu votre message et vous en remercie. (literal translation: I have well received your message for which I thank you)

I normally say: Thank you for your message. Is there another expression you would use to express this?

If you want to be very formal you could use a version of your translation:

- I have [successfully] received your message, for which I am very grateful.

However, I see no reason to complicate "Thank you for your message" - it says what needs to be said.

I bet some older solicitors still use the even more formal

'I am in receipt of your communication of even date, for which I thank you'.

Stick to what ems said.
