1-Varieties of English are so difficult to learn.


2-English is so difficult to learn.



I guess \1 is the suitable/appropriate one.

That's what makes English sovaried (and so difficult to learn!)

This could be interpreted as regional/national forms rather than alternative ways of saying the same thing.
