came here in the Philippines OR came here to the Philippines?
I told somebody this sentence: I came here to the Philippines last December 10, 2012.
She corrected me and said it should be "I came here in the Philippines last December 10, 2012.
Which is correct? How should I say it?
Thanks.

Neither sentence sounds natural in AmE.
I would say: 'I came to the Philipines last year on December 10.' The words 'last year' automatically mean '2012' so there is no reason to include it in the sentence.
Other variations could be: 'I came to the Philipines on December 10, 2012.' Or, 'I came here last year on December 10.'

AmE It's the same in BrE. The first is clumsy, but the 'correction' is worse because of the preposition in IMO. Amigos4's suggestions work better.
