Default who is smarter lyrics

Here are the lyrics to the HARRY Belafonte song "man smart women smarter"
I say let us put man and a woman together
To find out which one is smarter
Some say man but I say no
The woman got the man de day should know

And not me but the people they say
That de man are leading de women astray
But I say, that the women of today
Smarter than the man in every way
That’s right de woman is uh smarter
That’s right de woman is uh smarter
That’s right de woman is uh smarter, that’s right, that’s right

Ever since the world began
Woman was always teaching man
And I you listen to my bid attentively
I goin’ tell you how she smarter than me

Samson was the strongest man long ago
No one could a beat him, as we all know
Until he clash with Deliah on top of the bed
She told them all the strength was in the hair of his head

You meet a girl at a pretty dance
Thinking that you would stand a chance
Take her home, thinking she’s alone
Open de door you find her husband home

I was treating a girl independently
She was making baby for me
When de baby born and I went to see
Eyes was blue it was not by me

Garden of Eden was very nice
Adam never work in Paradise
Eve meet snake, Paradise gone
She make Adam work from that day on

Methusaleh spent all his life in tears
Lived without a woman for 900 years
One day he decided to have some fun
The poor man never lived to see 900 and one

First of all, I gree that it seems very musical, but he repeats himself many times .

Secondly, his argument is almost nonesensical because he did not mention a compelling evidence that women are smarter than men. (He is talking about his emotions.)

Thirdly, can you pinpoint any compelling evidence in the poem that clearly states that women are smarter ?

I will come later to chop his argument .

I think he means that women are tricky. You might also say devious or cunning. What he is saying is the the women he has known have outwitted him.

Certainly cunning is a word for intelligence, albeit an unflattering one. It is hardly in dispute that women generally possess better verbal skills than men do.

I would say that men are smarter than women. They are also stupider than women.

I say let us put man and a woman together

First, he shows us the problem “Who is smarter men or women?” Then, he claims that women are smarter .That’s a good beginning, but we’re waiting for his proofs and evidence.

Quote:
And not me but the people they say
That de man are leading de women astray
But I say, that the women of today
Smarter than the man in every way
That’s right de woman is uh smarter
That’s right de woman is uh smarter
That’s right de woman is uh smarter, that’s right, that’s right
Here, he also argues that today’s women are smarter. Why did not he confine their being smarter to this time? What about women in the past? If he thinks that they are smarter in both times of yore and contemporary, he wouldn’t have said that.Still, there is no evidence .

Quote:
Ever since the world began
Woman was always teaching man
And I you listen to my bid attentively
I goin’ tell you how she smarter than me

He claims that woman was always teaching man not only men. However, he has no evidence. He is talking about the past now although there was no female prophets or apostles long ago. His line: “Woman was always teaching man” is only a generalization, which is based on nothing.

Quote:
Samson was the strongest man long ago
No one could a beat him, as we all know
Until he clash with Deliah on top of the bed
She told them all the strength was in the hair of his head
Her is his supporting example (his compelling evidence!) this is may be right .She might have empowered him coz this situation is extremely difficult for some men. Nevertheless, we are talking about intelligence and not who will defeat the other when a female and a male are on their bed.

Quote:
You meet a girl at a pretty dance
Thinking that you would stand a chance
Take her home, thinking she’s alone
Open de door you find her husband home

I was treating a girl independently
She was making baby for me
When de baby born and I went to see
Eyes was blue it was not by me

I think he does not know that a woman cannot bear a child without a male or his woman may have deceived him coz as he declares, “it was not by me” He may be correct in the fact that the woman makes the child (teaches it).

Quote:
Garden of Eden was very nice
Adam never work in Paradise
Eve meet snake, Paradise gone
She make Adam work from that day on
How could Eve make Adam work and what day? Why the Paradise has gone?

:P

Eve talked Adam into eating the apple. It's all her fault.

Harry Belafonte song "man smart women smarter"

I say let us put man and a woman together
To find out which one is smarter
Some say man but I say no
The woman got the man de day should know
He's saying let's compare the Sexes.
Sex, not gender, is the focus.
It's a play on words.

Quote:
And not me but the people they say
That de man are leading de women astray
But I say, that the women of today
Smarter than the man in every way
That’s right de woman is uh smarter
That’s right de woman is uh smarter
That’s right de woman is uh smarter, that’s right, that’s right
He's saying that men in his culture tend to smooth talk women into having sex. They tell them they love them and that they'll marry them so as to have sex with them. The men are leading the women astray (leading them down the path of premarital sex)

Quote:
Ever since the world began
Woman was always teaching man
And I you listen to my bid attentively
I goin’ tell you how she smarter than me
The world began with Eve teaching Adam to pick and eat the apple from the tree of knowledge. According to some thinkers, if you cut an apple in half, the inside looks like the female genitals. In other words, Eve teaching Adam means that Eve tempted Adam with sex, thereby causing the fall of Man(kind). He's saying that Eve was smarter than Adam
because she was the one to sweet talk, or smooth talk him into having Sex.

Quote:
Samson was the strongest man long ago
No one could a beat him, as we all know
Until he clash with Deliah on top of the bed
She told them all the strength was in the hair of his head
Deliah was known to be beautiful. She used her beauty to tame Samson. Her beauty was her weapon of power.

Quote:
You meet a girl at a pretty dance
Thinking that you would stand a chance
Take her home, thinking she’s alone
Open de door you find her husband home
Women are not innocent; they, too, like men, can sweet talk a guy into doing anything, like, for example, driving them home. They don't want to date the guy, they just want a lift home in a car so they don't have to walk. Women sweet talk men. That's their power. He's saying that men are blind to a woman's ways.

Quote:
I was treating a girl independently
She was making baby for me
When de baby born and I went to see
Eyes was blue it was not by me
He was dating many woman, one of which got pregnant; she told him he was the father, he wasn't the father though. She only said it because she needed a husband or she needed someone to help her take care of the child. When the child was born, it wasn't his. He knew right away that she tricked him; she lied to him; she used her condition (pregnancy) to get a husband.

Quote:
Garden of Eden was very nice
Adam never work in Paradise
Eve meet snake, Paradise gone
She make Adam work from that day on
The Garden of Eden was for Adam and Eve to enjoy. They didn't need to work for food; there was an abundance of food. Once Adam ate the apple from the forbidden tree, God sent the two out of Eden, to never return again. In their new place, they had to work for food, all because Eve tricked Adam into eating the forbidden apple (i.e. for having sex). He is saying that Eve is powerful because she tricked Adam; in other words, he's saying that men are naive when it comes to the ways of women.

The song should be entitled:

Men beware of women! They aren't as innocent as you think.

:D
