Default "Thank you" or "Thank you for your attention"?

Dear Teachers,

I have a question about the presentation issue. In general, we are used to put a page with "Thank you for your attention" in the end page of presentation slides. Today, one of my friends told me it is not right. He said "Thank you" is better than "Thank you for your attention".
Could you please tell me if he is right? and why?

Sincerely,

Jeff

I don't think there's a ruloe that says it's not right. There are plenty of presentations on the net that use it:

Your friend may just think it's a little formal; but as Tdol says, it's not wrong.
