well i hate idoms in english grammer
for example here is one
it is very important to believe that your friends are sincere and honest with you.
it is wrong to say it is very important to believe that your friends are sincere and honest to you.
i guess its the same with the question you posted
again i only know canadian english haa haa
In British English we could say both and there's no real difference.![]()
