Mission Impossible

Could you please give me feedback for this small text that I've wrote? (Including this first sentence :lol: ):

Last month I’ve had decided to make the exam of the course “Organization I”. Is in German, which makes it more difficult. I asked the professor’s assistant if I could response it in English, and he answered me affirmatively. During these month, I asked a partner his notes, started to read the book (in German) and bought an exam-guide which comprises the old exams for the same course. While I was reading the book, I noticed that it was almost impossible to do it in just thirty days, therefore I decided to translate only the notes that I had got from my colleague. After a couple of days, I realize that also to translate them were going to take a lot of time. I started to be stressed so I turned my efforts to the exam, but just reading and half-understanding the whole test took me more than the whole time settled for the exam. Then I decided to quit the mission. I found that it was completely senseless.

Should it not be "notes I had gotten"?

I'm a BrE spekaer- I never used 'gotten'. ;-)

Now I get it - two people seperated by the same language;-) ;-)
