Can you please check my thesis statement?

Thesis:Resurrection can occur physically and spiritually, both provide the person a second opportunity at life. Although resurrection does not erase a person's past it can cause the person to remain the same or become a complete opposite.

I have just read a A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. My teacher asked us to write a research paper on a topic that appears on it. I picked resurrection. Please help me correct my thesis I think its weak.

P.S. I'm new to here and I'm aware that the rules say to not post anything about a religion and I just want to clarify that I just want to know whether my thesis is strong or not and what changes I could make it to it. In no way I'm asking opinion on religious beliefs.
