please help me improve this paragraph
During the Cold War, the U.S. launched an attack on Cuba intended to overthrow its government and gain U.S. recognition. Before the war, CIA recruited and trained some Cuban exiles to participate the invasion. Soon John F. Kennedy, who had become the president three months ago, decided to go through this attack. The invasion began at the Bay of Pigs which located at south Cuba. However, the Cuban air force raided the invaders violently and cut off their supplies. Not so long after, the invaders became prisoners, for they were surrounded and ran out of supplies. As a result, the failure extremely embarrassed Kennedy Administration, which meant to gain U.S. recognition in Cuba, but eventually strengthen the Cuban’s support to their government. Kennedy had to admit the invasion was a silly mistake, which would never be committed again.
